Under Setup, click Wireless Settings. Results: Network Name (SSID) is in the Name (SSID) field. Passwords are located in the following fields. For WEP encryption, your current wireless password is located in the Key 1 field. For WPA/WPA2 encryption, your current wireless password is located in the Passphrase field. 1 Log in to * with your current email address and password. * You must be on the Frontier network to access the Frontier Account Editor. If you are in a location other than your home, you may not be able to access the Frontier Account Editor. 2 Click Password in Account Management section and type in new password twice. 3 Click Change Password button. If you forget this password, you will need to speak to a Frontier Customer Service agent to help you reset it. This is for your security. The agent will confirm your identity on the call. Your specific Frontier-provided router has directions to access change the password. How to create a strong password: • Must be 8–20 characters in length • Cannot contain any spaces • Must include at least one number and one capital letter • Cannot contain your user ID, first name, last name or answer to your security question • Cannot include more than 3 of the same letters/numbers in a row (e.g., 'blt22222' is unacceptable) • Cannot include 4 consecutive keyboard characters (e.g., 'qwerty33CAT' is unacceptable) If the Frontier Account Editor determines your password is too easy for others to guess, you will be prompted to choose another password. A default wireless password is assigned to each modem and can be found on the back of your modem. Your password is labeled as 'Passphrase' or 'Network Security Key'. Changing your wireless password is simple. Just follow the instructions below. From your Windstream high-speed internet connection, go to to change your wireless network password and follow the steps below. ![]() Note: You must do this from your Windstream connection. It cannot be done from remote location. • Scroll down to 'Manual Setup AP'. • Locate your Wireless Network Name from the 'Select SSID' drop down box. Note: Windstream recommends creating a unique Wireless Network name before changing your Wireless Password. For steps on 'How to Change Your Wireless Network Name.' • In the 'WPA/WAPI passphrase' box, enter your preferred new password. Click 'Click here to display' to ensure you entered your new password correctly. • Click 'Apply/Save'. Your new wireless network password has been saved. Write down your wireless network name and password and store in a safe place. You will be asked to enter for your password when you connect to your wireless network.
